Signs You May Have a Drain or Sewer Problem

Some drain problems affect just one fixture. Others can point to an issue deeper in the home's drainage or sewer line.

  • Slow-draining fixtures

Water draining slowly from sinks, showers, or tubs.

  • Frequent toilet clogs

Toilets that frequently clog or back up.

  • Gurgling sounds

Gurgling sounds from drains or plumbing fixtures.

  • Unpleasant sewer odors

Unpleasant sewer odors around the home.

  • Multiple fixtures affected

Multiple fixtures draining poorly at the same time.

  • Recurring clogs

Recurring clogs that return after being cleared.

  • Wastewater backing up

Wastewater backing up through a drain.

If several fixtures are affected or wastewater is backing up, the problem may be farther down the drainage system. Identifying the cause helps determine whether cleaning, inspection, repair, or replacement is appropriate.

If sewage is backing up into your home, avoid using the affected plumbing fixtures and keep people and pets away from contaminated water until the issue is addressed.

Drain & Sewer Services for Your Home

Whether the issue is a clogged drain or a damaged sewer line, the right solution starts with understanding the problem.

Drain Cleaning & Clog Removal

A blocked sink, shower, tub, or toilet can interrupt everyday life. Shaddai provides drain cleaning and clog removal to address obstructed drainage and restore proper flow where possible.

Sewer Line Repair

Sewer lines can develop problems that affect drainage throughout a home. Shaddai repairs sewer lines when the condition of the pipe and the type of damage make repair an appropriate option.

Sewer Line Replacement

Some sewer lines have damage or deterioration that calls for replacement rather than another repair. Shaddai provides sewer line replacement for residential plumbing systems.

Sewer Camera Inspections

A sewer camera inspection provides a view inside an accessible drain or sewer line. It can help identify visible obstructions, damaged sections, and other conditions that may explain recurring drainage problems.

Septic Abandonment & City Sewer Connections

When municipal sewer service becomes available, some Cape Coral homeowners need to disconnect from their existing septic system, properly abandon the septic tank, and connect the home to the new city sewer infrastructure. Shaddai performs septic abandonment and residential sewer connection work.

Cape Coral Utility Extension Project

Connecting Your Cape Coral Home to City Sewer

Cape Coral is expanding municipal sewer service into additional neighborhoods through its Utilities Extension Project. For homeowners who currently use septic systems, that can mean a new sewer connection and proper abandonment of the old septic tank.

What happens when city sewer service becomes available?

According to the City of Cape Coral, affected developed properties receive a Notice of Availability when the new utility system is ready for connection. The city generally requires connection within 180 days of that notice.

Connecting a home involves more than attaching a pipe at the street. The residential sewer lateral must be connected to the municipal system, and the existing septic tank must be properly abandoned in accordance with applicable requirements.

Septic Abandonment & Sewer Connection Work

Shaddai HL Plumbing performs the residential plumbing work associated with septic abandonment and connecting homes to Cape Coral's new municipal sewer infrastructure.

The applicable city process includes utility connection requirements, permitting, inspections, and proper septic abandonment. A licensed septic hauler may be needed to pump out the existing tank before it is abandoned.

Have You Received a Notice of Availability?

If you've received a notice from the City of Cape Coral, or your neighborhood is preparing for new sewer service, contact Shaddai to discuss the sewer connection and septic abandonment work your property may need.

When a Sewer Camera Inspection Can Help

A recurring clog or sewer problem is not always visible from inside the home. A camera inspection can help reveal conditions inside accessible drain and sewer piping.

Recurring Problems

When clogs keep returning, inspecting the line may help identify why the problem continues.

Possible Pipe Damage

A camera may reveal visible cracks, displaced pipe sections, obstructions, or other conditions affecting the line.

Planning the Next Step

The inspection findings can help guide a decision about cleaning, repair, or replacement.

Not every clog requires a camera inspection. The appropriate next step depends on the symptoms, access to the line, and the condition of the plumbing.
